Chalais hosts an international horse jumping event every August with plenty to do throughout the year – especially in summer. Chalais also has a sports centre, outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts. There are several golf courses near by and they are much cheaper than England, Spain or Portugal! The railway line from Paris runs through Chalais and there are several airports within an hours+ drive – Bergerac, Poitiers, Bordeaux and Limoges.
