Barns For Sale In
Picardie
(including the departments of Aisne, Oise and Somme)
The French region of Picardie is found just below France's northernmost tip
and has a small English Channel coastline. To the north the landscape is of
vast flat plain of open fields, where the bloody Battle of the Somme was fought,
but further south is a scenic hilly area with large forests. The main
economy is agriculture with crops and dairy and beef farms. Good road and
rail links, and the proximity to the UK via the Channel Tunnel and ferries,
make this region easily accessible. The capital is Amiens, famous for its
gardens on small islands in the marshland along the Somme River. The climate of the region is similar to that of the south of England.
